Plante Moran Realpoint (PMR), affiliate entity of Plante & Moran, PLLC (PM) provides fully integrated Program Management/Owners Representation and Real Estate Services exclusively to corporations and institutional organizations.

PMR is looking for a thoughtful and dynamic individual to be a part of our Project Development Team.  This individual will be focused on early conceptual development and have the ability to generate insightful solutions that will help shape new projects in a variety of markets.  An understanding of the development process is beneficial as this individual will work with a team of financial analysts.  Our ideal candidate will be a big picture thinking and an excellent communicator and collaborator willing to work in a dynamic environment in a variety of industries and project types.  As part of the Project Development Team, you will develop high-level space and site programs, stacking plans/building massing, and building siting options. This information will be used to facilitate owner decision making.  


Your role.

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Participate as part of a Project Development Team, supporting with generating high-level space and site programs, stacking plans/building massing, and building siting options, coordinating as a team on cost drivers and program goals.   
  • Work alongside clients to facilitate project scoping decisions and program direction at early conceptual phases.  
  • Developing and facilitating competitive Requests For Proposals for professional services (Geotech, topographic survey, architect/engineer, construction manager, etc), evaluating proposals and developing/presenting recommendations to the owner.
  • Overseeing the design process to ensure alignment with program goals.    
  • Advise on issue resolution that aligns with stated project objectives.
  • Effectively interact, coordinate and communicate with all levels of client management and support staff.
  • Work within an internal team to ensure implementation and compliance of P&M and PMR policies and procedures on projects.


The qualifications.

  • Have strong project management skills to drive projects forward, support client collaboration and alignment, and facilitate client decision making.
  • Have exceptional communication skills working closely with clients to understand and interpret their needs related to program/building development.  
  • Have a general understanding of construction costs and design elements that drive cost during early concept development and proforma generation.
  • Have a general understanding of total project schedules and the overall development process.
  • Knowledge of contracting is a benefit, but not a requirement
  • Architecture Degree from an accredited college or university
  • 5-8 years of building, design and construction experience in the following areas: project management, architecture/planning, engineering, or construction field
  • Experience working for an Owner’s Facility Team or as a consultant is preferred
  • Construction cost estimating experience is desirable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project and/or Primavera Scheduling Software; basic knowledge of AutoCAD, familiarity with BIM
  • Qualified individuals must either reside in or near Metro Detroit or be willing to relocate for this opportunity
  • Frequent travel throughout the region, with approximately 20% overnight travel

This is an exempt position, so you may have to work hours that exceed the standard 40-hour work week.

Compensation is commensurate with technical skills and experience is provided in accordance with applicable state requirement. Compensation information posted is based on a position being located in the state of CO or IL. Please review the position location for the applicable geographic location.

Colorado monthly base range is as follows: $10,000-$12,500
Illinois monthly base range is as follows: $10,000-$12,500
